Now more than ever, the Henry County community is recognizing the value of a strong small business presence and the importance of supporting locally owned companies. New Castle Main Street is working alongside the New Castle Henry County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) and other local partners to provide support and resources for Henry County’s small businesses.
New Castle Main Street, a 501c3, is accepting tax deductible donations on behalf of the EDC’s Enterprise Loan Fund (ELF) to help businesses impacted by COVID-19. Donations will go directly to the EDC’s ELF funding and will help small businesses in Henry County navigate the fallout from this crisis.
“We treasure the relationships we have with our small businesses, and we want to do everything we can to support them,” noted Carrie Barrett, Executive Director of Downtown New Castle/New Castle Main Street. “By supporting Henry County’s small businesses through the Enterprise Loan Fund opportunity, you’re also supporting the local community.”
To donate to the fund, visit newcastledowntown.com and look for the “Give to the Enterprise Loan Fund” link. Donors may also send checks to New Castle Main Street/ELF Fund; 227 N. Main St., New Castle, IN 47362.
The New Castle-Henry County Chamber of Commerce is spearheading initiatives to support local businesses during the pandemic. The “Love Local” campaign encourages area residents to support local businesses. Follow the Chamber’s Facebook page for details on the latest support drive.
Additionally, the Chamber is hosting several webinars in the upcoming weeks with the theme of “Community Immunity.” Topics include marketing presented by Christy Ragle, human resources presented by Cindi Kiner, and business check-ups presented by Scott Underwood.
“We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from our Henry County residents for the ‘Love Local’ campaign. We are adding a new business grouping to this campaign in addition to the ‘Show your Love’ social media game where two random commenters will win a $25 gift certificate to their favorite business of that week,” shared Shaun DuFault, Executive Director of the Chamber. “This type of support for our local business community is greatly encouraging to owners and employees.”
