First Financial Foundation Helps New Castle Main Street Support Local Entrepreneurs
For the fourth year in a row, Henry County Creates will host a series of workshops and a pitch contest to help area entrepreneurs get the tools they need to succeed in business. Business Builders will begin in January, and this year’s series is getting a boost from the First Financial Foundation. This donation will help support the final prizes, which are awarded at Launch Night. Launch Night happens at the conclusion of the series when the entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.
Henry County Creates (HCC) is an initiative of several area organizations designed to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Henry County. Current small business owners and budding entrepreneurs are invited to make their idea a reality through this series.
“Our past programs have been so successful we wanted to help more businesses this year,” noted Carrie Barrett, New Castle Main Street Executive Director. “Entrepreneurs strengthen local economies and help build our community. We’re thrilled that First Financial Foundation wants to invest in entrepreneurship in Henry County.”
The Business Builders workshop series will begin with a kick-off meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Primo, 1326 Broad Street. Dinner will be provided. These no-cost sessions will be open to new and previous participants. Workshops will begin on Tuesday, January 31 at Ivy Tech’s New Castle campus from 6 to 7 p.m.

Numbers, Numbers, Numbers – Discover how to develop financial projections and discuss financing.
Tuesday, February 28
Put Some Action To It – Explore aspects of operations including location and technology.
Tuesday, March 7
The People That Make It Possible – Find the best ways to use your personal skills and when it’s time to bring on help.
Tuesday, March 14
Launch Night – Finalists will present their pitches to the panel of judges and the winners will be awarded cash and service-related prizes.
