Fourth Fridays Features Arts, Music, and Food Downtown Starting May 24

The Art Association of Henry County and New Castle Downtown are bringing the sounds, sights, and smells of summer to Broad Street starting May 24.  Fourth Fridays will include arts, music, and food from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the fourth Friday of each month starting in May and continuing through September.  The May 24 event will be in front of the Artistry Annex, but future events will be at the 1400 Plaza. The plaza is a gathering space located on the block bordered by Broad Street, 15th Street, Race Street, and 14th Street.

“We hope that by collaborating with the Art Association of Henry County we can do great things in downtown New Castle. We hope that Fourth Fridays will create excitement around the things that are going on downtown,” noted Carrie Barrett, New Castle Downtown Executive Director.

The event will be rain or shine, unless there is a threat of a damaging storm. Setup will begin at 4 p.m. There will be specials at Primo, Back Porch, and Twin Lions and food trucks in the plaza. The events will include music along with art-related activities, artist vendors, and outdoor games. The Art Association is in the process of contacting additional local artisan vendors.
