New Castle Main Street is hosting Shop Small Saturday in downtown New Castle on Saturday, November 26. During this event, New Castle Transit will offer free transportation between downtown merchants. Several shops will have special activities. Additionally, the community is invited to purchase “Downtown Dollars” at designated locations.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., New Castle Main Street will be selling Downtown Dollars at the 1822 Boutique, Primo, and The Press Coffee Co. Downtown Dollars are redeemable at many locally owned and operated businesses for meals, gifts, and personal services. On Small Business Saturday, New Castle Main Street will help stretch these Downtown Dollars by offering $5 for every $20 spent. For example, $20 in Downtown Dollars purchased becomes $25, $40 becomes $50, and $100 is $120.
While the bonus dollars are only available during Shop Small Saturday, Downtown Dollars are available anytime by visiting newcastledowntown.com/downtown-dollars. After selecting the retailer and amount for the gift certificate, certificates can be mailed or downloaded.
Participating Downtown Dollar retailers are 1822 Boutique, A Moment In Time Bridal Salon, Art Association of Henry County, Back Porch Bar, Broad Street Blends, Diva Nails, Early Bird Diner, Edwards Jeweler, Elk’s Diner, Expressions Hair, Luxe Lizzie’s Boutique, Ky’s Lunch Box, Monkey Jack’s, Piercing the Veil, Primo, Professional Design, Selah Salon and Spa, The Barnett Company, The Flower Studio, The Honey Blond Hair Company, ‘Tis the Season, The Press, Twin Lions, Weiland’s Flowers, Wicked Tattoos
“We hope that people think about shopping at downtown merchants all through the year, but Christmas shopping provides a fun opportunity to support local businesses,” noted New Castle Main Street Director Carrie Barrett. “We look forward to having a great turnout for Shop Small Saturday.”
